Why fund accounting matters
Fund accounting is the record of everything a fund owns, owes and earns. It drives the NAV, the fees you charge and the capital each investor holds. A single mispriced position or missed accrual can ripple into restated NAVs, audit findings and uncomfortable investor calls.
Namus pairs senior fund accountants with automated reconciliation and review controls. The result is a clean, transparent set of books across master-feeder, multi-class and multi-vehicle structures.

Funds We Serve

Fund and GP accounting for buyout, growth and venture funds, from first close through final distribution and wind-down.
Loan-level and property-level accounting for direct lending, mezzanine, real estate equity and debt funds.

FAQs
Fund accounting records a fund's investments, income, expenses and capital activity, and uses them to calculate the net asset value (NAV) and each investor's share of it. It also covers fee calculations, financial statements and the reports investors and regulators receive.
NAV equals total assets less total liabilities. We value every position from independent sources, add income and accruals, deduct fees and expenses, then apply subscriptions and redemptions. NAV per share is net assets divided by shares in issue for each class.
An independent administrator gives investors and auditors confidence that the NAV is verified by a third party. It also removes the cost of in-house systems and specialist staff, and scales as you launch new funds.
Yes. We have dedicated teams for hedge funds, private equity, private credit and real estate. Each uses processes built for that structure, from daily NAVs to capital calls and distribution waterfalls.
Yes. We work on leading fund accounting platforms and connect to your prime brokers, custodians, banks and order management system through API or SFTP. Output files follow the format your team already uses.
Every business day we match trades, positions and cash in our books against statements from prime brokers, custodians and banks. Breaks are flagged automatically, investigated and resolved, usually the same day.
A typical transition takes six to ten weeks, including at least one parallel NAV run with your current provider. New fund launches can be ready in as little as four weeks.
